Gemina arrives in Toronto: the documentary on the dialogue between Monferrato and Armenia has been selected for the Toronto Arts & Entertainment Film Festival 2026
La Nuova Provincia – 22/06/2026
La Nuova Provincia celebrates Gemina’s arrival in Canada, with official selection at the Toronto Arts & Entertainment Film Festival 2026.
The article announces that the documentary from the Gemina project, born from the first cultural twinning between Monferrato and Armenia, has been selected for the Toronto Arts & Entertainment Film Festival 2026, an emerging festival dedicated to independent cinema on identity and territories. A delegation from SiAmo il Monferrato APS, accompanied by Fondazione Time2, will be in Toronto from June 25 to 29 for the official events and the awards ceremony on June 28. The film explores memory, roots, landscape, and sense of belonging through images, testimonies, and encounters with local communities. The publication recalls that the three-year project, after Armenia in 2025, will continue with Romania in 2026 and Japan in 2027, and that it stands out for the direct involvement of young people with disabilities in the production processes thanks to Fondazione Time2. The Canadian mission will also have strategic value: the agenda includes meetings with the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada, the Consulate General of Italy, and the Italian Cultural Institute of Toronto to evaluate future collaborations on culture, tourism, and territorial promotion.
