It means knowing how to meet, recognize one another, and build something new together. Conviviality is both the sentiment and the act of opening oneself to others.
Convivia is a project that explores the dialogue between Monferrato and Saudi Arabia through the common thread of conviviality. Through four universal languages—cuisine, dance, music, architecture, and visual arts—we explore how conviviality can become a bridge between cultures, generations, and identities. These languages become tools for encounter between two cultures that may seem distant, but are deeply connected by a shared desire to open up, welcome, and share.
CONVIVIA is a cultural enhancement project that begins with historical cross-pollinations and leads to a contemporary encounter, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and with Italian strategies for heritage and sustainable tourism.
August 2025 – Italy – The Commission for Culinary Arts of the Arab Ministry of Culture was hosted in Asti by the SiAmo il Monferrato association to discover the territory and culinary traditions of the Monferrato region.
December 2025 – Saudi Arabia – The SiAmo il Monferrato team was invited by the Commission to Riyadh, on the occasion of the Saudi Feast Food Festival.
On this occasion, two four-hands dinners were held — a symbolic meeting between Monferrato and Saudi cuisine. It was a celebration of dialogue through taste — where cultures met, and traditions blended into new forms of understanding and collaboration (Italian Embassy in Riyadh, Italian Consulate in Jeddah).
December 2025 – Italy – At Artigiano in Fiera, SiAmo il Monferrato celebrated creativity and taste through a special collaboration with the Commission — presenting an original dates & cheese pairing crafted by our team. During the event, we hosted a private gathering where President Mayada Badr and Chef Mauro Elli, President of the Italian National Restaurateurs Team (N.I.R.), met to explore new opportunities for a trilateral partnership.
