Monferrato opens its doors to Saudi Arabia: La Nuova Provincia reports on the mission that brought the official delegation of the Culinary Arts Commission, the government body promoting the Kingdom’s gastronomic culture worldwide, to the Asti area.

From August 25 to 27, 2025, the region hosted the Saudi delegation as part of the initiative promoted by the SiAmo il Monferrato association, in collaboration with CIA Alessandria-Asti and with the support of the Italian Embassy in Riyadh. The stated objective is to build a high-quality “gastronomic bridge” between two distant territories united by a passion for food, landscape, and traditions. The highlights of the visit were the excellences of Monferrato: truffles, cheeses, honey, chocolate, hazelnuts, and nougat, presented to the guests through company visits and discussions with producers. The Saudi delegation expressed its intention to develop collaborations with public and private entities in the region and to open export channels for local companies. The journey will continue in November 2025, when a delegation of Monferrato producers will be hosted by the Italian Embassy in Riyadh for a regional promotion event.
