Three days of visits, tastings, and institutional meetings: the Saudi delegation’s mission to Monferrato, as reported by ATNews, concluded with a highly positive outcome.

The event “Tradition & Transformation – A bridge between Monferrato and Saudi Arabia,” organized by SiAmo il Monferrato APS with CIA Alessandria-Asti and the Italian Embassy in Riyadh, took place from August 25 to 27, 2025. The Culinary Arts Commission delegation, led by its CEO, visited centers of excellence such as Alberto Marchetti’s gelato laboratory in Turin, the Fratelli Durando farm in Portacomaro, and the Barbero nougat factory in Asti. At Relais Le Cattedrali, a round table brought together producers of hazelnuts, rice, honey, Roccaverano PDO cheeses, and nougat, as well as a halal-certified dealcoholized wine designed for the Saudi market. The highlight was the gala dinner at the Michelin-starred restaurant Cannavacciuolo Le Cattedrali, where the pairing of Saudi dates and Piedmontese cheeses was showcased before local and regional authorities. The guests expressed a concrete interest in establishing collaborations and opening export channels for local producers.
